IT TECHNICAL AND STAFF REQUIREMENTS OF AN ERP IN ON-PREMISE SOFTWARE AS A SERVICE

Alhough the demand for cloud technology is increasing but we cannot ignore the fact that there are still sizable chunk of businesses who are very protective because of the following fears such as: 1. poor internet, 2 easily hack, 3. slow, 4. interruptions, 5.  unreliable security, 6. data loss,  and 7. costly The good examples are medium to large businesses and government offices in multiple remote locations. 


Those clients feel confident only if the software is located in  their premises using the latest programming technology and has the capability to change into cloud in the future.

Let us take for example Ikonomikal Cloud ERP software. The name itself connotes that it is applicable in a cloud environment. But the reality is Ikonomikal architecture is flexible enough to turn into an on-premise setup. Meaning, it can be installed as well in the client's IT infrastructure. TECHNICAL & MANPOWER REQUIREMENTS

  
List of Technical Hardware Requirements

Minimum:
Web+Database+Backup Server (All-in-one server)
1. 2Ghz 4 Core x64 i7 (or XEON)
2. 8GB RAM
3. 1x 256 HDD (or SSD)
4. 1x 100mbps LAN Card
5. DVD Drive (optional)
6. External Backup HDD
7. Windows Server 2016 Standard x64 (or Windows 10 pro)
8. SQL Server 2016 Standard x64
9. Email Hosting for Email Notifications
10. Monthly Subscription to SendGrid (Email Blast)


Recommended:
Server 1 (OPTIONAL)
On-premise Domain/DNS/VPN Server (will also be used for maintenance and administration)
1. 2Ghz x64 Intel i3/i5/i7/Xeon
2. 4GB RAM
3. 2x 512 HDD/SSD RAID1
4. 2x 1GBPS or higher Server/Industrial Grade Ethernet Card
5. DVD Drive (optional)

Server 2 (REQUIRED)
On-premise Web Server Recommended Requirements
1. 2Ghz 2 Core or Quad Core x64 Intel i5/i7/Xeon (higher core count is preferred over speed)
2. 8GB NON-ECC/ECC RAM (ECC RAM is preferred)
3. 2x 256 HDD/SSD RAID1
4. 2x 1GBPS Server/Industrial Grade Ethernet Card
5. DVD Drive (optional)
6. Latest Windows Server Standard x64 (3CAL)
7. Email Hosting for Email Notifications
8. Monthly Subscription to SendGrid (Email Blast)

Server 3 (REQUIRED)
On-premise Database Server Recommended Requirements

2. 16GB NON-ECC/ECC RAM (ECC RAM is preferred)
3. 2x 512 HDD/SDD RAID1 or 4x 512 HDD/SSD RAID10 (SDD RAID10 is preferred)
4. 2x 1GBPS or higher Server/Industrial Grade Ethernet Card
5. DVD Drive (optional)
6. Latest Windows Server Standard x64 (3CAL)
7. Latest SQL Server Standard (3CAL)

Server 4 (OPTIONAL)
On-premise Backup Server Recommended Requirements
1. 2Ghz x64 Intel i3/i5/i7/Xeon
2. 4GB RAM
3. 256GB HDD/SSD
4. 1TB external USB Backup (preferably in RAID1 config, good for 2-3 Years depending on the size of the database)
5. 2x 1GBPS or higher Server/Industrial Grade Ethernet Card
6. DVD Drive (optional)
7. Latest Windows 10/Server Standard x64 (3CAL)

**The servers mentioned above will have their own subnet and switch. Only the Webserver is accessible by private and public users. No app should be able to connect to the database but Ikonomikal and the on-premise Backup Server.**

Server 5 (OPTIONAL)
Remote Server Backup
1. 2Ghz x64 Intel i3/i5/i7/Xeon
2. 4GB RAM
3. 256GB HDD/SSD
4. 1TB external USB Backup (preferably in RAID1 config, good for 2-3 Years depending on the size of the database)
5. 2x 1GBPS or higher Server/Industrial Grade Ethernet Card
6. DVD Drive (optional)
7. Latest Windows 10/Server Standard x64 (3CAL)

Servers’ 1 and 4 can be configured in to 1(one) physical server and servers’ 2 and 3 can also be configured in to another 1(one) physical server. How much capacity and performance that this setup can handle depends on the usage. In the meantime, this can be configured temporarily on your existing computers while the servers are being built.

Internet and Network Equipment
1. 2x 1GBPS or higher server/industrial network switch
2. 1x CISCO Router/Modem/Firewall
3. 1x Office 10-50MBPS or higher bandwidth for administration and remote backup. At least the up and down speeds are sync. (used by 1 and 4)
4. 1x Remote 10-50MBPS or higher bandwidth for administration and remote backup. At least the up and down speeds are sync. (used by 5)


**iKonomikal Techsupport will connect via VPN/Teamviewer to perform maintenance and must be given at least administrative privileges to servers 2 and 3.**

Other Tech Requirements:
1.     Server Rack Cabinet to fit Servers 1 to 4 (optional but recommended)
2.     Server Rack Cabinet to fit Server 5 (optional but recommended)
3.     UPS for Servers 1 and 4 (optional but recommended)
4.     UPS for Servers 2 and 3
5.     UPS for Server 5 (optional but recommended)
6.     3 to 4 Extension Cords with surge protection
7.     Keyboard, Mouse & LCD for each Server

List of Manpower Requirements

1. Database Administrator (to perform and verify backups)
2. IT Staff (to perform routine maintenance to servers) 
3. Users knowledge on how to use computers
