THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNIT AND IKONOMIKAL CLOUD ERP

Mayor Marisa Red Martinez intends to use the latest technology the world can offer in improving most of the services of the Local Goverment Unit (LGU) of the Municipality of Santa Cruz, Marinduque, Region 4B (MIMAROPA), Philippines. At present, delayed reports and difficulty in obtaining progress status were undeniably frustrating to the Mayor whose objective is to make her first class municipality the first city at the heart of the Philippines, and also to be the first town to use cloud technology in the country.

The move is also in compliance with the Cloud First Policy of the Department of Information and Communication Technology aimed at reducing the cost of government information and communications technology (ICT), increasing employee productivity, and developing better citizen online services through the use of cloud computing technology.

The determined Mayor conferred with her top brass staffs to use the latest technology a priority in order to properly manage and monitor in real time the services, developments and works in progress of the town of Santa Cruz. The Mayor's plan will also enhance the municipality's governance to be more fair, accountable and transparent as she aimed to prevent corruption under her watch.

The direction was welcomed by the majority of the municipality's employees. The municipality accountant expressed delight for her team will not anymore repeat the entries of the other department transactions and all reports are just ready to print anytime. This is a great relief and big savings in manpower time and resources. The head of the General Services Office felt elated as well by learning a big improvement of computerizing their activities is in the offing.

Therefore the public expects services becoming faster and convenient, reportorial requirements to government offices are submitted ahead of deadline with ease, and more developments are achieved by the municipality.
